Taxonomy
Actaeonella pompei was named by Maury (1930). It is a cast. Its type locality is Fazenda da Estiva, near Tamandaré [Estiva Fm], which is in a Coniacian/Santonian carbonate limestone in the Estiva Formation of Brazil.
