Delocrinus verbeeki was named by Wanner (1916).

It was recombined as Ceriocrinus verbeeki by Wanner (1924); it was recombined as Graphiocrinus verbeeki by Webster (1973) and Webster and Webster (2012); it was recombined as Ekmelocrinus verbeeki by Webster and Donovan (2015).
