Taxonomy
Carinophylloceras was named by Klinger et al. (1975) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi-l]. Its type is Carinophylloceras collignoni.

It was assigned to Phylloceratinae by Klinger et al. (1975) and Wright et al. (1996); and to Phylloceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
