Taxonomy
Eophyllites was named by Spath (1930) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-l Tr Olen-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Monophyllites dieneri.
It was assigned to Monophyllitidae by Spath (1934); to Ussuritidae by Kummel (1969) and Tozer (1981); to Phylloceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Paleophyllitidae by Brayard et al. (2009).
