Taxonomy
Pernopecten subpiriformis was named by Lu (1986). Its type specimen is Y1646, a valve (Left valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Caodigou Section, 73YPVF39, Buha Valley, Tianjun District, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine horizon in the Hajier Formation of China.
