Taxonomy
Collignoniceras jorgenseni was named by Kennedy et al. (2001). Its type specimen is USNM 498249, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Loc. D13834, Fall River Co. [Carlile Shale], which is in a Turonian marine shale in the Carlile Shale Formation of South Dakota.
