Allocrioceras was named by Spath (1926) [Sepkoski's age data: K Ceno-u K Coni-l Sepkoski's reference number: 716].

It was assigned to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Anisoceratidae by Wright (1979), Kennedy et al. (1987), Kennedy (1995), Arkadiev et al. (2000) and Kennedy and Gale (2015).
