Taxonomy
Rhectopsammia claibornensis was named by Vaughan (1900). Its type locality is Claiborne, which is in a Bartonian coastal sandstone in the Claiborne Sand Formation of Alabama.

It was recombined as Endopachys claibornensis by Kiessling (2008).
