Taxonomy
Hoplitoides adkinsi was named by Kummel and Decker (1954). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pseudotissotia (Bauchioceras) adkinsi by Barber (1957); it was recombined as Pseudotissotia adkinsi by Chancellor (1982); it was recombined as Thomasites adkinsi by Kennedy et al. (1987).
