Taxonomy
Ammonites newberryanus was named by Meek (1858). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pachydiscus newberryanus by Anderson (1902); it was recombined as Canadoceras newberryanum by Anderson (1958), Matsumoto (1959) and Jones (1963).
