Taxonomy
Ammonites morreni was named by Coquand (1862). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Ceratites morreni by Coquand (1880); it was recombined as Buchiceras morreni by Thomas and Peron (1889); it was recombined as Hemitissotia morreni by Hyatt (1903), Parnes (1964) and Chancellor et al. (1994).
