Taxonomy
Clelandoceras rarum was named by Flower (1964). Its type specimen is RHF 813, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is McKelligon Canyon, which is in a Cassinian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal grainstone/lime mudstone in the Scenic Drive Formation of Texas.
