T. Matsumoto 1959The whorls are spiral, typically contiguous, forming a turreted shell like Turrilites, but are sometimes slightly separated, and followed by a free, retroversal body whorl. The whorl is rounded, being subcircular to elliptical in section.
The shell is ornamented with numerous, normally simple obliqUe. and slightly sinuous ribs. There is a collared constriction along the apertural margin of the adult body whorl. The suture is florid, deeply and finely incised; L is much larger than E and deeply cut into two unequal branches, U is similar to but smaller than L;Iis small and normally trind;saddles are bifid.
