Taxonomy
Beloitoceras lobiferum was named by Flower (1952). Its type specimen is a specimen in the collection of G. Winston Sinclair, a shell, and it is a cast. Its type locality is Cap-à-l'Aigle, which is in a Trentonian carbonate conglomerate in Canada.
