Taxonomy
Winnipegoceras sinclairi was named by Flower (1952). Its type specimen is RHF 59, a shell, and it is a cast. Its type locality is Quarry at "St. Bartholemew", which is in a Shermanian/Edenian deep subtidal shelf limestone/shale in the Tetreauville Formation of Canada.
