Taxonomy
Cerithium boweni was named by Olsson (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Restin [Pale Greda Fm], which is in a Lutetian coastal shale in the Pale Greda Formation of Peru.

It was recombined as Cerithidea boweni by Hendy et al. (2008).
