Taxonomy
Polypora principalis was named by Gorjunova (1975). Its type specimen is PIN 2351/392 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chon-Su River, Central Pamirs, which is in an Artinskian marine horizon in the Kalaktash Formation of Tajikistan.
