Taxonomy
Quadratonucula stella was named by Yancey (1978). Its type specimen is USNM 245150, a valve (Left valve, internal mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is CHS 1J-2, Buck Mountain Section, which is in an Artinskian marine horizon in the Riepetown Formation of Nevada.
