Taxonomy
Marginifera spinulifera was named by Campi and Shi (2007). Its type specimen is NMV P309715, a shell (Conjoined natural cast), and it is a cast. Its type locality is Chuanmu Section, Bed 30 (CM-10), which is in an Artinskian shallow subtidal limestone in the Liangshan Formation of China.
