Glaessneropsidae was named by Patrulius (1959). It is not extant. Its type is Glaessneropsis.

It was assigned to Glaessneropsoidea by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2009), Schweitzer et al. (2010), Franţescu (2011) and Schweitzer et al. (2012).
