Datheosaurus macrourus
Taxonomy
Datheosaurus macrourus was named by Schroeder (1905). Its type specimen is MB. R. 1015.1-2 (part and counterpart), a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nowa Ruda, which is in a Kuzel fluvial-lacustrine sandstone in the Ludwikowice Formation of Poland. It is the type species of Datheosaurus.
It was recombined as Haptodus macrourus by Romer and Price (1940); it was synonymized subjectively with Haptodus baylei by Reisz (1986).
