Taxonomy
Actinaraea michoacanensis was named by Filkorn and Pantoja-Alor (2009). Its type locality is Loma de San Juan, coral reef, which is in an Aptian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Cumburindio Formation of Mexico.
