Taxonomy
Eogaudryceras was named by Spath (1927) [Sepkoski's age data: K Apti K Albi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 943]. Its type is Ammonites numidus.

It was assigned to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); to Gaudryceratinae by Nagy (1970) and Hoffmann (2010); and to Gaudryceratidae by Kennedy and Klinger (1979), Wright et al. (1996), Geyer et al. (1997) and El Qot (2018).
