Eparietites was named by Spath (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: J Sine-l J Sine-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); to Asteroceratinae by Blau (1998), Meister and Friebe (2003), Geczy and Meister (2007) and Howarth (2013); and to Asteroceratidae by Edmunds et al. (2016).
