Taxonomy
Streptorhynchus peregrinus was named by Abich (1878). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Araxes Gorge, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in Azerbaijan.
It was recombined as Orthotetes peregrinus by Arthaber (1900) and Stoyanow (1910); it was recombined as Orthotetina peregrina by Sokolskaja (1965); it was recombined as Orthothetina peregrina by Fantini Sestini and Glaus (1966).
