Taxonomy
Euomphaloceras was named by Spath (1923) [Sepkoski's age data: K Ceno-m K Ceno-u]. Its type is Ammonites euomphalus. It is the type genus of Euomphaloceratinae.
It was assigned to Acanthoceratidae by Zaborski (1985); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Euomphaloceratinae by Cooper (1978), Wright and Kennedy (1981), Wright (1983), Wright et al. (1996) and Gale et al. (2005).
