Taxonomy
Porosoma fifei was named by Wagner (1972). Its type specimen is UCMP 10782, a test (nearly complete specimen), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is El Cardon, which is in a Paleocene marine horizon in the Sepultura Formation of Mexico.
