Taxonomy

Stylophora affinis was named by Duncan (1863).

Synonyms

Stylophora panamensis was named by Vaughan (1919). Its type locality is Vaughn Station 601 - Empire [Emperador Limestone], which is in an Aquitanian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Culebra Formation of Panama.

It was synonymized subjectively with Stylophora affinis by Flórez et al. (2019).
