It was assigned to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); to Vascoceratidae by Zaborski (1987), Kennedy (1994), Kennedy et al. (2008), Barroso-Barcenilla and Goy (2009) and Kennedy and Gale (2016); and to Vascoceratinae by Chancellor (1982), Cobban and Hook (1983), Kennedy et al. (1987), Meister (1989), Kennedy and Simmons (1991), Ifrim and Stinnesbeck (2007) and Guendouz et al. (2022).
