Falloticeras was named by Parona and Bonarelli (1897) [Distribution: Early Middle Albian]. Its type is Ammonites proteus.
It was synonymized subjectively with Mojsisoviczia by Gebhardt (1983).
It was assigned to Mojsisovicziinae by Wright et al. (1996); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Mojsisovicsiinae by Kennedy and Klinger (2012).
