Glandulina was named by d'Orbigny (1826) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than-l R]. It is extant.

It was reranked as Nodosaria (Glandulina) by Cushman and Applin (1926).

It was assigned to Nodosaria by Cushman and Applin (1926); to Nodosariinae by Cushman (1927); to Glandulininae by Mailhe et al. (1967) and Loeblich and Tappan (1984); to Polymorphinidae by Bertels (1964) and Wienrich (1997); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).
