Taxonomy
Menuthionautilus evolutus was named by Shigeta and Zakharov (2009). Its type specimen is NSM PM23128 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Abrek Bay AB1012, which is in a Dienerian submarine fan sandstone in the Lazurnaya Bay Formation of the Russian Federation.
