It was assigned to Acanthoceratidae by Matsumoto (1959); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Mantelliceratinae by Kellum and Mintz (1962), Linares and Cremades (1988), Wright et al. (1996), Matsumoto et al. (2003), Kennedy (2005), Szives (2007) and El Qot (2018).
