Taxonomy
Acanthostoma vorax was named by Credner (1883). It is not extant. Its type specimen is SGED 285+286 (lectotype).

It was recombined as Acanthostomatops vorax by Witzmann and Schoch (2006) and Schoch and Milner (2014).
