Globigerinoides was named by Cushman (1927) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol-u R]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Globigerinidae by Snyder et al. (1983), Gibson (1983) and Wienrich (1997); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).
