Taxonomy
Oligotresium howei was named by Cheetham (1962). Its type specimen is LSU no. 7147 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is McBean Creek, which is in an Eocene marine siliciclastic/limestone in the McBean Formation of Georgia.
