Taxonomy
Gemmellaroceras was named by Hyatt (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: J Sine-u J Plie-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Eoderocerataceae by Blau (1998); and to Polymorphitinae by Smith and Tipper (1996), Sepkoski (2002) and Howarth (2013).
