Taxonomy
Columnastraea bella was named by Reuss (1864). It is the type species of Siderofungia.

It was synonymized subjectively with Siderofungia morloti by Baron-Szabo (2008); it was recombined as Siderofungia bella by Reis (1889) and Löser (2016).
