Taxonomy
Conopeum concavum was named by Canu and Bassler (1920). Its type specimen is USNM 63879, an other, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vicksburg [Red Bluff Clay], which is in a Rupelian marine claystone in the Red Bluff Formation of Mississippi.
