Taxonomy
Cyathoseris joannae was named by Stemann (1992) [in Budd et al. 1992]. Its type locality is Lago Alahuela, Panama, which is in a Priabonian reef, buildup or bioherm mudstone/limestone in the Gatuncillo Formation of Panama.
