Latimaeandra corrugata was named by Milne-Edwards and Haime (1849).

It was recombined as Dimorphastrea corrugata by Koby (1904); it was recombined as Comophyllia corrugata by Geyer (1954); it was recombined as Microphyllia corrugata by Beauvais (1964).
