Melanodus loonesi

Taxonomy
Melanodus loonesi was named by Darras et al. (2008). Its type specimen is MGL 1244, a tooth (tooth plate), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Banc-Noir Quarry, which is in a Givetian deep subtidal shelf packstone/lime mudstone in the Blacourt Formation of France. It is the type species of Melanodus.
