It was assigned to Petalodontida by Zangerl (1981) and Sepkoski (2002); to Petalodontidae by Woodward (1889), Hay (1902) and Goto and Okura (2004); and to Janassidae by Jordan (1963), Lund (1989) and Ginter et al. (2010).
