Calyoza was named by Westwood (1837). It is extant. Its type is Calyoza staphylinoides.

It was synonymized subjectively with Epyris by Krombein (1992) and Azevedo et al. (2018).

It was assigned to Proctotrupidae by Westwood (1837); to Bethylinae by Ashmead (1893); to Bethylidae by Carpenter (1992); and to Epyrinae by Colombo et al. (2022).
