Taxonomy
Cretomyrma was named by Dlussky (1975). It is not extant. Its type is Cretomyrma arnoldii.
It was assigned to Sphecomyrminae by Dlussky (1975); to Sphecomyrmini by Bolton (2003), Bolton (2012) and Borysenko (2017); and to Formicidae by Carpenter (1992) and Boudinot et al. (2020).
