Taxonomy
Acanthogyra aptiana was named by Turnsek and Mihajlovic (1981). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Zljebine Creek near Donja Kamenica, which is in a Barremian/Aptian perireef or subreef limestone in Serbia and Montenegro.
