Neoglyptoxoceras was named by Collignon (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp-l K Camp-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Diplomoceratidae by Collignon (1969) and Thomel (1988); and to Diplomoceratinae by Arkadiev et al. (2000).
