Neograhamites was named by Spath (1953) [Sepkoski's age data: K Maes-u Sepkoski's reference number: 971]. Its type is Neograhamites kiliani.

It was assigned to Kossmaticeratidae by Henderson (1970); to Kossmaticeratinae by Henderson and McNamara (1985); and to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
