Ediacaria booleyi was named by MacGabhann (2007). Its type specimen is GSI F12410 and is an impression. Its type locality is Ediacaria booleyi, Booley Bay Fm., Wexford, Ireland - Crimes et. al 1995, which is in a Merioneth submarine fan sandstone/mudstone in the Booley Bay Formation of Ireland.
