Taxonomy
Dakeoceras champlainense was named by Kröger and Landing (2007). Its type specimen is NYSM 17316. Its type locality is NYSM locality 5898, which is in a Skullrockian shallow subtidal wackestone in the Tribes Hill Formation of New York.
